V-6, Frankincense, and Carrot Seed Oil vs. Baby Oil to Remove Make-up

Baby oil is made of mineral oil. Mineral oil is something completely foreign to the human body. It is a synthetic oil which is a byproduct of the distillation of gasoline from crude oil. Mineral oil acts as a thin layer on the skin. It is difficult to absorb and clogs the pores, which slows the skin’s ability to eliminate toxins. If pores are blocked, the toxins remain in the body for a longer period. There are claims that mineral oil can cause damage to the lungs, nervous system, skin, and even causes premature aging.

Instead, I remove my make-up with a combination of V-6, Frankincense, and Carrot Seed Oil. After my shower I reapply a small amount all around my eyes to keep the skin soft and youthful looking.

V-6 This oil complex nourishes the skin, has a long shelf life, doesn’t clog pores, and will not stain clothes. V-6 is offered in both 236 ml and 944 ml refill bottles. V-6 is an organic carrier oil that is a combination of several different carrier oils (coconut oil, sesame seed oil, grape seed oil, sweet almond oil, sweet germ oil, sunflower seed oil, and olive oil).

Frankincense- supports healthy cellular function, increases blood flow and circulation, reduces cellular irritation, reduces skin discoloration and imperfections, and promotes feelings of wellness and relaxation.

Carrot Seed – known for support of eye health. It was even used in WWII to help pilots with their night vision.

Mix in a small container or in a roller ball. I mix equal parts Frank and Carrot Seed Oils 4-10 cc’s depending on the size of the container.

What's your time to be awake in the middle of the night?

What is your bewitching hour?
I’m awake almost nightly at or right around 2:00-2:20 AM.
According to the Chinese Body Clock it is because my liver is overwhelmed by the detoxing process.  Interestingly when I recently had a Zyto scan done, it reported the same thing.
There are some 300 different functions normally performed by the liver. When the liver’s not happy, none of the body is happy.
There are many reasons your liver needs to detoxify. Alcohol, drugs, chemicals, poor diet are all possible reasons. For me it would have to be poor diet and chemicals.
I believe that my body will take care of itself, but, the body cannot take care of itself when it’s weak, not nourished properly, and under a lot of stress.
The emotions of anger and hate create toxins that are stored in the liver that can lead to sickness and disease.
One outward sign of the liver being in trouble is on the face between your eyebrows; you may have one or several deep lines and/or a swollen puffiness.
Lack of sleep and fatigue from pushing yourself when your body needs to rest weakens the liver; as the liver weakens it becomes more and more difficult to sleep.
You'll know you have a congested liver if you feel tired and sleepy soon after eating but you have plenty of energy around 1-2 A.M
You may also tend to worry during this time or have negative thoughts.
Digestive problems may bother you late at night and you may have to urinate more than you do during the day.
An overactive liver may cause you to feel feverish and find the summer months very uncomfortable.  This is so me!! I’m a wilted weed in the heat!!
A weak liver pulls energy away from the spleen, pancreas and stomach. These organs play a key role in digestion.
Young Living offers multiple oils and products that can help you maintain a healthy liver and detoxify your body.

So what time are you usually awake during the night? Call me, I can help!

Physical Demands:

Prolonged time spent on your feet and making repetitive motions with hands and upper arms can cause physical demands. It can contribute to stress injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome and bursitis. Elevating the arms repeatedly can lead to musculoskeletal disorders of the shoulders and neck.

Slips and Fall Injuries:
Salons have hazards that increase the risk for slips and fall injuries. Spray products and excess hair make the floors slippery. Untidy areas and poorly lit hallways also increase the risks for injury. Hairdressers should wear shoes with nonslip soles and sweep the floor immediately after cutting hair to minimize the effects of these mishaps.

Young Living has many products that can help sooth any of these injuries.
Copaiba essential oil supports discomfort anywhere on or in the body. It can also help improve mood due to the component of Beta-Caryophyllene.  It helps create a relaxing atmosphere when diffused or applied topically.
Panaway Oil -is used only externally. It contains methyl-salicylate - natures aspirin.
Aroma Siez-  is a blend that relaxes and calms, relieves tensions of spastic muscles resulting form sports injury, fatigue or stress.
Ortho Ease and  Ortho Sport Massage Oils - These help soothe and promote comfort for bones and muscles.

Sharp Objects:
Since salon workers regularly work with scissors and other sharp objects they are at risk for cuts and puncture wounds.
Lavender Oil - is most peoples favorite. It is referred to as " The Swiss Army Knife" of essential oils. It has a well documented history of providing comfort. It is stimulating to the cells of a wound to regenerate more quickly and by doing so helps to maintain blemish free skin.
Helichyrsm oil - supports skin and wounds, it is the oil of choice for helping to maintain the normal appearance of skin after an injury whether the injury is recent or not. It can also be helpful in the cessation of bleeding.

Don't take advantage of your health any longer. We have choices for better health and wellness without using chemicals!

The Risks of Being a Salon Worker

SALON WORKERS:     Detoxify Your Body with Young Living Essential Oils.  Part 1

ESSENTIAL OILS CAN HELP LOWER YOUR PROFESSIONAL RISKS

Poor Ventilation
It’s important that the salon has a good ventilation system. When chemicals mix with the heat from the hair dryers, it can create fumes that irritate allergies, asthma and can cause headaches.

UVA Exposure
The gel manicure has risen in popularity, it can do more harm to your health that it can do good for your appearance. Early studies show that the UVA lights used during the manicure can potentially increase your risk of developing skin cancer.

Chemical Exposure
Hairdressers use gels, texturizers, straighteners, relaxers, shampoos, conditioners, dyes and other substances that contain hazardous chemicals. These chemicals enter the body when hairdressers inhale or fail to wash their hands before eating or applying lip cosmetics. Chemical exposure can also occur if a hairdresser does not wear gloves when handling hazardous substances. The consequences of exposure depend on the type of chemical used and how the exposure occurred. Dye that splashes on unprotected hands may cause skin irritation. The same dye could cause permanent blindness if splashed in the eyes.
Straightening solution contains formaldehyde or chemicals that can break down into formaldehyde. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has issued an alert for those who work with this product and are exposed to the chemicals in it. OSHA has also cracked down on some manufacturers of the product that failed to label formaldehyde as an ingredient.

How does your body detoxify?
Detoxification is basically cleansing the blood. It works because it addressees the needs of the individual cells. (Bennett)

1.       The liver prepares these toxins so the body can expel them through urine or your bile. If your liver is overloaded, it slows down its function and thus contributes to toxins accumulated in your blood.
It processes anything you eat or drink, and either repackages it for your body to use or eliminates it. The liver also stores vitamins.
Regulating body functions as the liver does, it can affect both your emotional and mental health. While it almost sounds cliché to mention, today’s lifestyle of poor diet and stress can injure your liver.
Without a healthy liver, it’s nearly impossible to have a properly functioning metabolism, healthy circulation, balanced hormones, strong digestion, a loss of memory and sleep and can cause a weight gain.
Young Living offers series of products that were developed with your liver in mind with blends that has both hepatoprotective and antioxidant protection and fortify the liver.
Lemon Oil-  One drop of lemon of Young Living essential oil is equivalent to consuming 20-30 fresh organic lemons in one sitting.
It alkalizes the body and purifies the lymphatic system. You want your body to be slightly alkalotic to prevent illness. It increases the circulation and purges the lymphatic system. It offers tremendous immune system protection by supporting the WBCs which fight against infections. It also supports the respiratory system.
D-Limonene is a compound known as 'lemon extract' and is found in high levels in lemon juices.
It supports the immune system and fights against abnormal cell division. It promotes liver health and helps alleviate fat buildup in the liver induced by diet.

2.       The Intestines are where digested food passes through and where nutrients are absorbed. They also balance the good and bad bacteria, helping the body to digest better and produce natural antibiotics to break down toxins.
A healthy digestive system is the starting point for health and wellness because that is where food is absorbed and where helpful bacteria live. Essential oils can be a great support for gastrointestinal comfort and normal digestion support.
A.      Peppermint Vitality essential oil has a bright, cool flavor, with benefits that include gastrointestinal comfort and normal digestion support, in addition to its great taste.
It’s very supportive of the immune system.
It also invigorates the mind and gives a boost of positivity.
B.      Digize Essential Oil is a blend of 8 oils. It helps balance function for elimination.
C.      Many other Young Living essential oils support the digestive system as well.

3.       The Kidneys are essential part of the urinary system. They serve the body as a natural filter of the blood, and remove waste which is diverted to the urinary bladder. In producing urine, the kidneys excrete waste such as urea and ammonium. A detox plan will help with these processes and relieves the pressure on your kidneys.
NingXia Red is a functional drink that supports every organ, tissue, and cell in your body. NingXia Red wolfberry juice incorporates the benefits of Goji berry, yuzu juice, aronia berry and therapeutic essential oils into a powerful antioxidant and nutritionally balanced drink.
NingXia Red benefits include support for energy levels, normal cellular function, and whole-body and normal eye health.

4.       The lungs are the essential respiration organs in our body. Their principal function is to transport oxygen from the atmosphere into the bloodstream, and to release carbon dioxide from the bloodstream into the atmosphere.
We may breathe toxins in the air through our lungs, but the lungs are also able to expel toxins. We can breathe deeply and fully exhale to maximize the cleansing effect.
Hyssop essential oil is an effective purifier and helps to remove excess thick fluid accumulations.
Peppermint oil helps to clean the respiratory system and sinuses. Because it is high in phenols, the receptor sites in the cells are able to be cleaned. (Think of door flaps that allow things in.)

5.       The lymphatic system is the fluid that circulates throughout the system and is part of our immune system. The lymph contains white blood cells that pick-up bacteria or other toxins from the body’s cells and bring them to lymph nodes where they are destroyed.
The lymph moves around the body by breathing and muscle contraction, so breathing and mild exercise help it to work better.
Lemon and Lime oils are cleanse and purge the lymphatic system.
JuvaFlex and Helichyrsm also aid in the detoxification process in the lymph.
Lemongrass opens the lymphatic system for toxin removal.
Cyress promotes circulation.

Why use a car diffuser and essential oils?

Read Now

The cars on the road produce some of the worst pollution. By using a car diffuser, improvement could take place in the air quality, and your energy and mood.
Traveling by car for an extended period can become exhausting for everyone, especially during the heat of the summer.

Kimberly Snyder states the following (full post here): According to the EPA, air freshener contains four basic ingredients: formaldehyde, petroleum distillates, aerosol propellants, and p-dichlorobenzene.

Formaldehyde can cause several health effects including:
  • Watery eyes
  • Burning eye, nose, throat and other mucous membranes
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Nausea
  • Asthma attacks

Petroleum distillates come from petrochemical manufacturing, which contribute to air, soil, and groundwater pollution. The effects on human health include:
  • Respiratory problems
  • Asthma
  • Chemical pneumonia
  • Pulmonary damage

Aerosol propellants can harm earth’s ozone layer. Likewise, they can damage human health including:
  • Increased cancer risk
  • Breathing problems
  • Development of chronic health issues

Paradichlorobenzene (p-DCB) is often found in mothballs and may cause:
  • Anemia
  • Skin lesions
  • Liver damage
  • Loss of appetite
  • Changes to the blood

Of course, air fresheners also contain fragrance, often in the form of perfumed chemicals.
Air fresheners can also harm pets, which have a faster metabolism.
